How PCP is structured - the ten sectors
When
a group becomes a member of PCP it identifies one of ten sectors with
which it wishes to be associated. The
decision as to which sector to choose will be based on the main interests
of the group and the type of other groups with which it feels it has most
affinity. (For example a community association is likely to choose the
sector in which most other community associations are located.)

PCP - Our structure
PCP is structured
as a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. As a company
our constitution or governing instrument takes the form of a Memorandum
and Articles of Association. This states our objects as:
- to promote
any charitable purpose for the benefit of the inhabitants of and those
working in or with a place of business within the City of Plymouth (or
any area or district which shall replace the same) ("the Area of Benefit")
and in particular the advancement of education, the preservation and
protection of good health and the relief of poverty and improvement
of conditions of life of such inhabitants and persons above mentioned.
- to promote
and organise co-operation in the achievement of these objects and to
that end, to bring voluntary and charitable organisations into association
and create partnerships with the local statutory authorities within
the Area of Benefit.

The Trustees
- The Board comprises of ten Trustees - all of whom are elected by the
Community Partnership's members.
- The Board of Trustees is PCP's governing body and is therefore
ultimately responsible for the management and activities of the
organisation. In practice the Board delegates the day to day operation
of PCP to the Director and staff team.
- Each year, 3 or 4 Trustees (representing a third of the Board) retire
and their places are filled through the election and nomination process.
Please see Rules and Criteria for Nomination and Election of Trustees.
Anyone interested in becoming a Trustee of Plymouth Community Partnership is
